Mulberry’s highly anticipated autumn/winter 2012 campaign has just been released, shot by British photographer Tim Walker and modelled by Mulberry favourite Lindsay Wixon, the campaign takes the furry animals in the background inspired by the movie ‘Where the Wild Things Are’.
I am obsessed with this campaign.
The original idea for the campaign was the brainchild of Mulberry's creative director Emma Hill, who wanted to transport the viewer into a fantasy world.
“The campaign is an interpretation of dreams and fears,” explained the campaign’s Art Director Ronnie Cooke Newhouse; “it’s very Mulberry – always iconic, ironic and a little bit naughty.”
For its pre-fall 2012 collection, Elie Saab created a fashion film called Balade a Paris. A beautifully shot short video focuses on details and close-ups of the beautiful dresses and other pieces presented in the pre-fall collection. Take a look.
It was a beautiful sunny day in Vancouver, I asked at work if I could leave a little bit early and it was not because I wanted to go to the beach , it was because I had a date ( yeah , right) with Victoria Beckham , she was coming to town to make an appearance at Holt Renfrew.
I left work at 11 am ( the invite said that she was going to be there at 12 pm ) , I rushed home , changed my outfit ( it took me less than 10 minutes , so WOW that was an achievement ) and I ran out my house to get to the store and met up my beautiful blogger friend Carolina Gonzalez ( http://www.ninaonthemoon.com/ ) and her lovely friend Karen.
We walked into the store and there was already a few hundred fans waiting for Victoria ( some of them have been there already for over 2 hours waiting) , it was 12:45 PM and no sight from Posh, people wondering where she was and if she was coming. Meantime Victoria sent a twitter saying that she was still flying , 30 minutes after that she twit that she was at customs trying to get into the country. Fans at the store were calm waiting for her.
It is 2:20 PM and finally the lady of the hour arrived , she walked in the room straight to the panel where all the photographers were waiting for her, she posed, posed and posed for a few minutes, took photos and shake hands with a few fans and left to the room where her fashion show was going to be held. And yes I got the chance to talk to her , I said : "Victoria welcome, nice to meet you" and she said :" it's lovely to meet you" .
I have to admit I am a big fan of her as a designer , her little cute-sexy dresses and her oversized shoulder bags that are to-die-for , a bit pricey but with great quality. The fashion show was very private , around 30 people were invited and it lasted around 4 minutes . After the show Victoria met with the media for some interviews and then she left. There was no proper photos with fans, she did not talk , she just basically showed up her pretty face. I do love the Spice Girls and I guess she was just being a Posh Girl, it was a fun day even though I am not sure it was worth it to wait for her over 2 hours.
