Ok, well, my story starts like this:
Early this year I was going through a magazine and I found out that Alber Elbaz (Lanvin's creative director) was going to launch a collection for the swedish retail store H&M, I got soooooooo excited and I was just thinking about the day when the collection would be in the stores.
Months later I realized that one of the few stores that it was going to have the collection was the one in my town, right after I booked the day off at work, started saving a few extra dollars ,went to the store's website to see the items and I made a few picks of exactly which pieces of the collection I was going to get.( Included 2 pairs of shoes, 1 shirt, 1 pair of sunglasses and a faux fur coat).
A night before Saturday November the 20th (release day of collection) I was checking my facebook and my very fashionista friend posted that she was already line-up (7pm friday night) to wait for the opening of the store saturday morning at 8 am., I started to FREEEEAK OUT!!! and I was getting really stressed, I knew it was going to be a wild and savage sale where I would need to fight to survive.
My alarm went off at 3 am next morning and I made my way to store , snowing-raining and with a -10 temperature), I got to the spot where there was a line-up I noticed that there was already over 300 people waiting for the store to open, I kept it cool and I had faith that it would be some reward at the end for being bored and being freezer myself during this fashion sacrifice.
After a few hours of waiting in the line and as it kept getting longer and longer I couldnt help but realize that EVERYONE was asian (chinese to be more precise), "huh?" I thought , "why its only me and 2 girls in a 600 line the only ones no asians?, they came in huuuuge groups and as the time of the opening of the store kept getting closer the asian groups ahead of me kept gettting bigger.
The time came when I was able to go into the store and checked the men's collection, I was seeing myself with those purple shoes I was dreaming with the night before, but by the time I could get to the area where the pieces were ( lets say it took me 50 seconds to walk from the line outside of the store to the actual part where the pieces were) it was SOOOOOOOLD OOOUT!!!!!!, the asians group entered to the store and split themselves and grabbed EVERYTHING!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!, I started crying, no shoes, no shirt, no sunglasses no nothing for me!, sniff, sniff, sniff, , why, why, ???? Can anyone explain to me WHY? Why the fashion lovers like me have to deal with these kind of people that take advantage of everything and try to make profit of it , please if you are on of them and you are reading this, please leave us(me) alone.
Minutes later my shock, frustration and dissapointment I saw all the pieces of the collection on E-Bay , 3 or 4 times more expensive than the retail price (sold by asians) . NOOOOOO (again)
Im sorry this is not a racist note, this is just reality , WTF? (sorry for my poor lenguage) but honestly I dont think is very fair that they decided to all come together and ruin other people's fashion dreams.
I walked out of the sale only with a boat tie and a piece of jewelry (none of the items that I wanted) and with a big hole in my heart.
"Would I do it again? " Answer: " UNFORTUNATELY YES (sad but true)."
